Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography

ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)

– Used to diagnose and treat conditions like gallstones, strictures (narrowing), leaks (from trauma and surgery), and cancer in the bile ducts and pancreas.
– A flexible tube (endoscope) is passed through the mouth, esophagus, and stomach into the duodenum.
– Dye is injected into the bile and pancreatic ducts so they can be seen on X-rays.
